Park Overview
This park is located on Ball Park Road, approximately 1.2 miles north of Austin Peay Highway, the main east-west corridor in the City. Ball Park Road provides an entry-exit dead-end connection into the park. City Park is home to athletic fields which are used year-round for soccer, football, and for girls’ and boys’ softball and baseball. Restrooms and a concession building are provided.

Improvement Opportunities

Parking and access to park components should be reconfigured to meet ADA standards.

This main entry road could be paved for easier access.

Playground equipment needs attention, and the safety surface needs to be upgraded to meet ADA requirements.

Investments in the playground area could increase usage, and with more unique play features, this park could become a destination park..

Upgrade ballfield lighting to current standards.

The restroom facilities need to be updated and maintained daily.

A major concern to the Westmoreland citizens and all park users is that both the current and future wastewater treatment facilities are located adjacent/nearby this park. This should be an item discussed in more detail to develop a vision for the future of this park.
